 Blue Demo Team

 

 

The Blue demo team is the “School Demo Team”.  This team will be primarily responsible for in-school demos at testings and special in-school events.  Blue Team Demo members are expected to make most practices and maintain a high level of conduct in all classes.  Participation on the Blue Demo team will allow students to improve their skills and knowledge of forms and material in preparation for future Red Demo Team try-outs.

 

The demo team will generally be run by one or more co-captains.  The co-captains are responsible for scheduling demos, choreographing skits and routines, and integrating music for the demonstrations.

 

Requirements:

  • ATA and school membership must be current
  • Black Belt Club, Master's Club, or Leadership Program Member
  • Instructor Approval 

   

 Red Demo Team

 

 

The Red Demo team is the ”competition team”. The Red Demo team will participate in competitive demo’s, and will be included in most school demos. Team members are expected to make all practices.  Red Demo Team members are expected to practice on their own, and maintain a Black Belt Attitude in all classes. There are limited number of spots on this team, and most students should expect to train on the Blue team for 2-3 years before qualifying for the Red team.   This demo team will also include instructors and instructor trainees.

 

Requirements:

  • ATA and School Membership must be current
  • Rank: Camo Belt to Black Belt, (Typically only Black Belt)
  • Ages 13 and up, or 3 years Demo Team Experience
  • High level of motivation, comittment, and personal training
  • Black Belt Club, Master's Club, or Leadership Program Member
  • Weapons Training
  • Proficient with all basic Taekwondo techniques
  • Able to perform advanced spin kicks including butterflys, quadruple jump front kicks etc.
  • Demonstrate all ATA forms and one-steps/sparring segments to respective rank
  • Instructor Approval
